GMBC A Grade Defeats North Balwyn A Grade In Pitcher's Duel

Both teams were strong on the mound on Saturday, but GMBC A Grade defeated North Balwyn A Grade 1-0. Ryder Wilson started the game for GMBC A Grade and recorded 27 outs.


GMBC A Grade didn't take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at zero in the top of the seventh when Joshua Byrne singled, scoring one run.


Wilson stepped on the hill first for GMBC A Grade. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and zero runs over nine innings, striking out 10 and walking four. Jon Kennedy started on the mound for North Balwyn A Grade. The hurler allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking none.


Ryan Booth, Mitchell Ellis, Byrne, and Aaron Whitefield each collected one hit for GMBC A Grade. Byrne went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. GMBC A Grade turned two double plays in the game. GMBC A Grade didn't commit a single error in the field. Lachlan Brennan had the most chances in the field with 10.


Chris Burke led North Balwyn A Grade with two hits in three at bats from the leadoff position.
