GMBC B3 Grade topped Waverley 4-3 on Saturday at Malcolm Blair Reserve.
Waverley were the first to get on the board in the first when Josh Lygris grounded out, scoring one run.
Waverley committed an error, which helped GMBC B3 Grade tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
Waverley took the lead in the top of the third. J Bell singled, scoring one run, to give Waverley the leg up, 2-1.
GMBC B3 Grade took the lead in the bottom of the third. An error scored three runs, to give GMBC B3 Grade the edge, 4-2.
Waverley scored one run in the top of the fourth on a solo home run to right field by Cam Jones.
Adam Crossthwaite began the game for GMBC B3 Grade. The starting pitcher allowed nine hits and three runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. Jeremy Valley started on the hill for Waverley. The starter surrendered five hits and four runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking two.
Crossthwaite led GMBC B3 Grade with two hits in two at bats. Anthony Vogt stole two bases. GMBC B3 Grade were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Grant Mack had the most chances in the field with 10.
Waverley tallied nine hits in the game. Jones went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Waverley in hits. D Koda collected two hits for Waverley in two at bats. Valley and Koda each stole multiple bases for Waverley. Waverley stole nine bases in the game.
